Manager of Exhibits

Imagine It! The Children’s Museum of Atlanta is currently seeking a full-time Manager of Exhibits.  This position reports to the Director of Exhibits and Education and is responsible for the physical development of internal exhibits, the management of the changing exhibition program, and working to improve the current museum exhibition floor.

This is an exciting opportunity with a growing organization that is looking to the future.  Job requirements are:
  • A minimum of two years experience conceptualizing and managing exhibit development for children and families
  • Sound knowledge of the educational concepts, trends, and methods generally employed in informal educational environments; knowledge of exhibition materials
  • The ability to multi-task several exhibits and projects
  • Excellent people-management skills and ability to work in a collaborative, flexible environment that demands innovation
  • Experience coordinating contractors and their work
  • Basic Carpentry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Contract management and administration
  • Proficient in the following computer programs: Photoshop, Illustrator, Google Sketch-Up, and CAD

Imaginator

Imagine It! The Children’s Museum of Atlanta is looking for an actress with a background in educational theatre to work Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:15 AM-1:30 PM and Saturdays from 9:30 AM-3:30 PM. beginning in October.   The Imaginator’s primary duty is the performance of work requiring imagination, originality and talent in the field of museum theatre with children and their caregivers and school groups during field trips.  The candidate must have a background in educational theatre, music and working with young children.
