Exhibits

In Exploring Trees Inside and Out, children will experience the sights, sounds and scents of a tree.  Your children can climb through a larger-than-life tree from the roots to the canopy, lie in the rope netting for a bird's eye view, and jump into a giant bird's nest.

 

 

 

At the numerous nature sensation stations throughout the exhibit, your children will use their senses to smell cinnamon, chocolate, cedar, fruits and flowers.  Together you can touch different bark textures, hear the water flowing through a leaf and learn about photosynthesis.  Helpful icons for each of the senses will help guide your children through this learning zone.

 

Climb inside the giant acorn, where your children can find out how this small seed grows into a mighty Oak tree. 

 

In the Ring Station, count the rings together to determine how old the tree is and in Wood Works your children will learn the different types of wood, textures and colors that help create products we use every day.  Working together, you can build unique structures, bird houses or other buildings.

 

Dress up is always fun!  In this exhibit, children can choose their favorite animal, insect or tree costume.  Watch them soar over a stream or climb to the tree tops and dance with the trees!
