Connecting Imagine It! to the Classroom and Learning at Home
Children are back in school and learning is in full-throttle! With all they’re learning at school, it’s important to find fun ways to reinforce the learning outside the classroom. The Museum’s exhibits and field trip programs incorporate learning concepts from the Georgia Performance Standards that schools teach in school. They teach children concepts in Math, Science, Art, Music, Language Arts, Social Studies and much more. When you visit Imagine It!, rest-assured that your children will have so much fun that they won’t even realize that they’re learning.
At Imagine It!, children learn through play. Lessons your children are learning in school are presented in a fun way through our hands-on, interactive exhibits and performances by the Imaginators, our professional troupe of actors. Our new “When I Am” cards highlight key learning areas for children ages 1-8. Each card provides insight into developmental areas and skills that your child is learning in the Museum at each age.
We encourage interaction between parents and children to enrich the learning experience. Feature exhibit Parent Guides outline activities that you and your children can complete in the Museum, as well as activities your family can do together to continue the learning at home. For parents who are home school educators, we’ve also provided special days created for the unique needs of home school families. The experience is geared toward children in grades K-4. The first one of this school year is on August 25. Click here to learn more.
