From Here to Timbuktu: A Journey Through West Africa

Your journey starts here! Children will learn about West African culture, language, and geography while national traveling exhibit, From Here to Timbuktu: A Journey Through West Africa, makes its stop at Imagine It! The Children’s Museum of Atlanta from February 5 through May 30, 2011. Children will explore the differences of cultures a world away while celebrating some of the similarities that cut across culture. The exhibit's goal is to develop understanding and appreciation of other cultures through discovery and exploration. Children can travel by moped, camel, and fishing boat, and they can trek over the canopy walk as they move through the regions illustrated by colorful graphical panels. Along the way, they can participate in exploratory hands-on activities providing a taste of West African life.
