Each year, Imagine It! The Children’s Museum of Atlanta holds its primary fundraising event titled “Amuse’um” in support of the Museum’s dynamic exhibits and programming provided to the children, families and schools of Atlanta. By posing the question, “Why should kids have all the FUN?”, the Museum sets the stage for a whimsical, adult-only evening of festivity filled with child-like activities, delicious cuisine and cocktails, live music, dancing, and engaging live and silent auctions. Amuse’um attracts a diverse range of guests including multi-generational families, joining together to celebrate Atlanta’s only children’s museum. Having sold out for four years in a row with over 500 guests in attendance, Imagine It! is excited to present Amuse’um – Once Upon a Time on February 20, 2010, providing adults with a chance to revisit childhood nursery rhymes and story books while enjoying a one-of-a-kind, grown-up evening of whimsy at the Museum.
The storybook themed evening of festivities, focused on children’s literacy, will take adults back to their childhood with a whimsical spin on nursery rhymes. The make-believe atmosphere will include delicious, themed food and cocktails, live music performed by the American Flyers, and silent and live auctions. Guests will also enjoy unique playground areas with a caricaturist, photo booth, Wii zone, face painting, and back by popular demand, colorful Rapunzel updos by the Fair Hair Ladies. Performances by the Imaginators, the Museum’s troupe of professional actors and educators, will be a highlight of the evening.
This year, the event is held in honor of the Community and Philanthropic Spirit of Primerica Financial Services. Serving as Co-Chairs for the seventh annual fundraiser are community leaders and long-time friends of the Museum, Staci and Matt Brill. All proceeds from the evening will support the Museum’s educational programming. Dress, of course, is playground chic.
